I am so very blessed~ I have such wonderful friends here in my "Bloggy World".~ When I first stumbled upon blogging~almost a year ago~ I need to check, because I believe my one year "Bloggy Birthday" is coming up.~Anyway, I had just quit my job as Master Scenic, at a local theatre here in Richmond. And was searching the net for the , "now what" answer.~I gave up my job, that I really loved, because it was incredibly time consuming. 9 full on, all the bells a whistles
productions a year. This theatre also is the largest children theatre tour company in America. Sending out portable theatre to schools all over the U.S.~ starting in the fall & going till the end of the school year.Vans arriving, more than likely at an elementary school in your hometown, filled with sets, costumes, props & most importantly the fine young actors that pull the whole thing off.
Anyway~ I loved it. But~ I was never home. And when I was I so very tired. Never mind that it left little time for my own artwork.~ After all, I am a studio artist, I became a scenic while looking for a job in the arts in my late 20's.
So~ there I was surfing the net ~ looking for answers. Then I happened upon a few artists blogs. And~ I was hooked.~ What is this?~What are these artists doing?~ Look you can leave a comment.~These artists are so talented!~Cool!~I want to do this.~ I need this!~How do I start?~I knew very little about the computer(still learning).~ But, I wanted/ needed to take part in this "Bloggy World".~
And~ I am so very happy that I did.~ I cannot begin to explain just how wonderful & important being part of this Bloggy World has been for me. I have met so many talented artists here. I have received incredible support & even love from my dear friends.~ Having my blog has made me accountable for goals that I want to achieve.~~~I only hope that I can be as helpful to friends, as they are to me.~~~~So, here I am on a Friday Morning~ waking up and finding that I have received a bloggy award & having been tagged.~ I had also received an award from my darling friend Katie May awhile back & really was touched, but could not give it the attention I felt it deserved.~ So, I am doing it today~
~~~Now, How Cool Is This ?~ My Very Own Award Ceremony~ on a Rainy Friday Morning~~~
~What a Wonderful Day!!!~
~1~ The Arte y Pico Award~ given to me by Katie May ~ I don't remember when I first met Katie, but, I can tell you that I was amazed from the start, by her talent & her very dear outlook on life. She is an artist that has only just recently started putting her art out there. For someone who has just now started painting on a regular basis, I am completely blown away.She has all that talent bottled up inside her. I am so happy that she is putting it out there for us all to enjoy!~Thank you Katie~Amy~
Just a quick note to say thanks for the award. I'm really bad about passing these along, but I want you to know that I appreciate it and how much I like checking out your blog. Take care and happy bloggy anniversary. Hugs!
WOW Amy. Thank you so much. I've never heard of these awards, but what a wonderful picker-upper. I might not always comment, but I visit you often. Hope all is well and thank you again.
Awww! Thanks so much, Amy!
Big hug,
Paz
Awww, such kind words. Thank you for including me! It is very appreciated. I loved reading your story on how you started blogging. Sounds like you had a very demanding job. I am glad you are back to studio art. I love all of your paintings. The cheeks on your children look so kissable. I just want to pinch and kiss all those little cheeks along the side of your page. To be able to capture that is amazing. I will have to take some time with this and think about whom I will award. I will let you know when I have done it. Thank you so much Amy!
Hi Amy. Thank you for being so kind as to mention my blog. I enjoy many that you have on your sidebar and look forward to visiting the new ones. It sounds as if you will have more time to devote to family--a wonderful choice! Can't wait to hear more about your art goals too. Prayers and blessings!
~Thanks~
~But~ I should mention that I had only been back painting full time as scenic for 2 years~
I thought that when Rowan started school~ I could take a full time position again.~Not~
~Amy~
Thanks so much for tapping me for the Bloggy award! I haven't had much time to blog or even check out others' blogs lately, but I will give some thought to passing the honor along. Keep up the great blog and thanks for staying in touch.
hi amy, i'm a little behind on things...thank you for the award! i will do my best to pass it on. and thank you for the lovely comment about my paintings, i've been in a funk this year trying to determine what direction i want to head and what i want to still say with my work, when i read that comment it dawned on me that the 'personal' aspect has been missing from all these explorations and that, quite possibly, has been why they don't feel right! so thank you for bringing attention to it!
Yes Christine~
More than any artist that I have looked at, your paintings do have a very personal quality to them.They have emotions.It is like you are able to put a part of yourself into them.I really do love them~
:)
~Amy~
